Although housed in two seperate buildings, it is perpetually packed with diners from lunch till late night.
We made a mistake coming during the peak period today.
The usually excellent, tender, sinewy and flawless pork leg dish they are reknowned for, tasted as bad as it looks in the picture below.
The skin is tough as boiled hard plastic and the meat has been cooked for too long. Not smooth. Very dry. Only the sauce is nice.
Although the bittergourd fried with salted duck egg, curry leaves and sugar arrived only when we were halfway through our meal, all is forgiven because it is standard Look Yuen fare. Tasty and good.
Hotplate egg tofu with minced pork, sliced shitake mushrooms is again standard dependable Look Yuen fare.
However today, it not only looks terribly sloppy but also as if they cut back on the tofu .
The layer of egg underneath does not taste that fresh.

Directions : coming from Pacific Mall,take a 3 o'clock at the roundabout before Bandar Perda, head upwards onto an elevated highway, go straight keep left till you see a U turn sign. U turn back, keep left. Turn into the housing estate before you reach the carriageway again. The restaurant is somewhere towards the end.
