Koay Teow Thng - Kimberley Street (NH)

This was actually a very quiet street before a tv programme made a bunch of hawkers here so famous

Sadly, the stall in the picture below,
is one of the last remaining handful that offers a decent bowl of koay teow thng , today, on Penang island
(there are so many horrible ones , let me tell you )

Glad to say that the owners have not let success go to their heads. They're one of the most humble, friendly and patient stall owners around.
My order comes complete with sliced red chillies ( rare ! )

Stewed chicken feet, always good.

Koay teow thng.
Different tasting from other operators but nevertheless wholesome and good with fresh ingredients that haven't gone bad ( oh yes, there are many who dare to sell such things nowadays ) .

Hot bowl of
Red bean soup.

I prefer to sit near the prayer parapharnelia shop as the new tong sui stall here, doesn't compromise on the ingredients as well as the quality, compared to the more famous tong sui stall down the road

Location : Kimberley Street
Directions : On foot. Cross to the opposite side of the road from Pacific supermarket's main entrance. There should be a small open air carpark on your left, go straight till you come to Jalan Sungai Ujong, turn left. Follow the road and you will come to the first junction, the stall is on the right
