While Kapah is a shellfish that is available in abundance all year round,
in the old days however, December used to be the bonanza time ( so I was told ) that locals took a sieve to the beaches and hauled home enough bounty , to even have it pickled.
We're at Sunshine Bay tonight and it's packed to the brim .
Lots of returnees back home for Christmas, Gurney Drive is jammed to the brim, as if it were CNY.
And that's how we ended up ordering this dish beside our usual must haves they are famous for such as tomyam prawn and fried french beans
Took one bite and I have to admit that I was indeed surprised.
Was earlier informed that the dish was cooked with their special in house sauce but I never expected it to taste a little of herbs. Nor that this combo would make the dish mouthwatering, unusually addictive but it was.
In case you like the bamboo server but aren't too keen on kapah, you can substitute it with seafoods such as crayfish.
Best to ask the person taking your order for suggestions.

I am often afraid to eat shellfish. My experiences have not been very good.
