Exhibits at the Farmers Carnival - stuffed and not

Warning :
For those who can't stand the sight of stuffed animals or freshly slaughtered ones, my advice to you, is to skip this post altogether .

Was drawn to this exhibit because I wanted to take a closer look at the stuffed Owl's eggs. I've seen a whole family of owls up close before but never the eggs, so I found this pretty fascinating.

Beside it, was this cross section of rice in various stages of maturity. Highly educational , yet throngs of schoolkids were no where to be seen .
Perhaps a liason with the State Education Department to highlight the event, to various schools would do the trick.

Stuffed earth rat, which was placed beside the owl, is a specimen far larger and nastier looking than I expected.

Moving on , this small flowering shrub caught my eye.
Never knew that the Sawi vegetable was that ornamental.

Now who could have guessed, that, we would one day, walk into a mushroom house, right here in Seberang Jaya eh ?
Also exihibited in various stages of grow. Awesome.

Doesn't look very appetizing though
This usually goes into Tomyam soup.

Along a small tree covered path, we came upon these beekeepers box. With real bees flying about and no one wearing any protective clothing whatsoever !

Pointed my camera this close and none of the bees were in the least interested to poke some venom into my fingers
 Gosh....

The abundance of flowering potted plants must have kept them busy.

Because the kids (playing ! gasp ! ) with the seeding machine next to that weren't stung . Not even once.

Turned towards the one storey tin roofed booths where shortie saw and touched an oil palm kernel for the very first time !

The entreprenurial spirit was burning bright here, as the proprietor at this stall dished out some very tasty spinach and daun gadok fritters for all visitors to sample.

At the fishermen's booth, the catch of the day was featured in a real boat. When the supply dwindled, fresh blood cockles became the crowd favourite .

Industrial sized baking equipments attracted a fair amount of attention at an adjacent lot

Coming face to face with this Musang King durian sapling made my jaw drop.
Woah, they sell everything here don't they ?
Purchased a grape plant, home for RM $15 from one of the traders there. Fruit saplings were a big hit here I can tell you.

Almost towards the end I walked into this menagerie of  stuffed animals !
Monkey, owls, flying foxes, anteater, eagle, crocodile....etc etc ...holy guacomole...this is why I'm not so keen on jungle trekking.

Plus I seriously wasn't aware that we had so many different types of wild cats out there ! Some are so small they look like domesticated felines. But they're not, so don't go try feeding them cat food.

Saving the most gross out pic for last .
Skinned head from a freshly slaughtered cow !
This wasn't the all time best seller. Lotsa people were waiting for salted duck egg that came by the boxes !

Location : Seberang Jaya
