Sam's Groceria - futuristic scan-it-yourself shopping

No, this is not the Star Trek enterprise. This wall of alien looking , futuristic little army of gadgets, greets all customers at the entrance of Sam's Groceria.

They're actually individual hand scanners for you to scan your purchases. 

In order to experience this, you'll first need to sign up for their family card membership. 

Costing approximately RM $30, there are 3 smaller segments for you to break off , pass onto your other family members and collect points together .

 See the price scanner thingy in the middle of the 2 white sections ? That's your starting point. Scan your card at the reader, make sure the machine verifies it, then pick up a portable scanner and start buying

If you're a new to this, don't worry. They have a team of extremely patient staff on standby to assist you. 
However if, you're the type who likes to learn it yourself, you can always check out and self study the instructions over here.

Gets easier once you get the hang of it. Comes with a delete function even , in case you change your mind. Best of all, because you actually know how much your purchases are going to cost, it's a great way to plan your budget without getting a nasty shock at the till.
