Lempeng Nyior - Jln Panji Alam

In the post before this, I mentioned that most people are under the impression that businesses are mostly dominated by women in the northern east coast states.
As you can see down here below, that's not always the case. This stall was introduced to us by Uncle Tan, the best tour leader in Kuala Terengganu.

For those who don't know what Lempeng Nyior is, it's a slightly sticky on the inside and lightly crisp on the outside coconut and flour pancake that's just slightly sweet but really tasty.

The amazing thing about this pancake is while the locals enjoy it with a curry on the side, I much preferred it plain. Coz, believe it or not, someone took the trouble to shred the white coconut flesh together with a little bit of the brown part and mix it in.
Awesome. Love this. Absolutely love this.

Location : Jalan Panji Alam

Directions : I don't know how to get here. You may look for Uncle Tan at masleong@yahoo.com
(016-422 9567 ) to arrange for a most insightful tour of his hometown . Yes even if you've been here before, the fact that he knows the place like the back of his hand, and is a local resident, who is sooo happy to introduce Kuala Terengganu town to you, I highly recommend ( bear in mind, that I hardly recommend tours as I'm a free and easy traveller , so when I do, you betcha he's made a really good impression on me )that you get him to guide you around the town you thought you knew but found out there was so much more to it, once you follow him around
