Pomegranate juice stalls can be found in almost every corner in Istanbul ! Highly regarded in this region, you don't have to hunt high and low, if you're looking for a quick antioxidant fix.

Said to be full of beneficial properties, this sporting fellow gives me a demo on how they juice it.

He lops off the top

then places the cut part , down on the press, pushing the handle down till blood red juice flows out

Repeat, the process again with another fruit

So you get a full cup like this

So how was it ? You can imagine, they prefer to drink it without sugar, plus the pulp and seeds all got squashed for more benefits. End product....Bitterrrrrrr. Just drink it for good health . 

 You can pick whether you want it from one of the pushcarts stalls, which often have owners on the run at the first sign of the police, or the proper juice bar like the nice man's one on top, which is what I settled for even though it cost a bit more. Not gonna risk falling sick while on holiday, not worth the savings ok ?
