Looking at the tiny umbrella and elaborate flower structure on a sedan from the back, one might be inclined to think that they were in Bali rather than Penang.
In the run up to the actual firewalking event, the Goddess was taken on a walkabout to invite and escort a bigger entourage back to the temple grounds
After a while, it was apparent that these men were swaying to a beat. Left, right, all gentle movements. Me, I thought it was so special and so beautiful to watch them in motion.

Expect to see Holy men and priests in attendance .It's an annual event after all. So try not to miss this if you so happen to be in town next time. What I was particularly fond of was the small but important band of musicians.
The fella with the long flute like instrument was pretty amused , not to mention a little bit shy as I snapped away. Cute !
These ladies formed a protective circle around central figure who was in a trance as he made he way towards the pit.
