The heat was already unbearable from where I was standing, thus I couldn't possibly imagine how people would be walking barefoot across those hot coals. Yet later on, men, both young and old would be doing exactly that without skin peeling off their soles
The sickle bearer sprinted across and almost collapsed into the arms of the men waiting at the end of the pit
Not really sure if he went immediately after the central character, but looking back at this pic , here he was just waiting for his turn
While the devotees were mostly Indians, it was interesting to note that the crowd that had gathered to watch the amazing spectacle was a good mix comprising foreigners staying in nearby hotels to local Malaysian Chinese like muah.
