Tai Buan porridge - Muntri Street

The weather's been so hot lately.
33 Celcius on Sunday.
Dove into this oldie but goodie Moi place to cool down the system.

Am featuring this bowl of humble porridge first because for Moi connoiseurs , achieving a texture of this consistency takes a lot of TLC as well as some secret kungfu .

Fan cheong stewed in 5 spice and soy sauce.
 Very, very, very, very good.
The intestines are still slightly springy, the sauce exceptional.
This coming from a person who isn't particularly keen on this offal.
I polished half a plate. It's that good !

Hard boiled egg in soy sauce.
Excellent. Flavourful.
Very good

Belly tripe stewed in soy sauce.
Nicely stewed , firm fatty area .
However I much prefer tender meat that's been cooked far longer.

This is their famous choy poh egg omelette.
Just ok for me cos I can actually cook up a more delicious version. Anyway, the preserved veg is the sweet type, whereas if I prefer the salty version.

Local Malaysian " kiam chye " stewed

The spread that we took

Easiest way to find Tai Buan, is to find this tall building on the right hand side of this photo.
 That's Cititel Hotel.

Location : Muntri Street
Directions : look at the photo above. Use Cititel as your landmark and walk straight across into this place
