Most people pack up and leave when night falls in Odaiba. But since we were already staying in the area, I can show you what there is, in the vast quiet area.
Linking Diver City to the corner of the beach area where a replica of the Statue of Liberty can be found, is this spot, where you can see both the Tokyo Tower and the Rainbow Bridge at the same time, it's a romantic spot which is a hit amongst dating couples.
I gasped when I saw this mini tree lined path opposite the golden needle sculpture . So different from daytime.
Like a fairyland or something.
Just near that, this staircase which lights up got the kids all excited. Squeals of delights abound whenever a new change of light tempo sets in
Is it Christmas ? Nope, they just like to keep the trees here lit up like it is all year long.
Pretty but weird at the same time
If you didn't already know, whether day or night, the giant Gundam robot attracts pockets of visitors.
There are plenty of wide open and long covered pedestrian bridges and pathways in Odaiba.
We walked this desolate stretch a few nights in a row. Looked kinda ghostly and haunted, like a page straight out of a Japanese novel. And when the winds blew in from the ocean, the occasional walker though tiny from a distance, just touched a chord in me.
My favourite sight. What looks like a Decepticon headquarters.
Finally, the Daikanransha ferris wheel.
At 115 feet, this ride is one I chickened out of. Cos I knew my knees would turn to rubber. Only the London Eye is taller than this, and I've ridden that one but that was no problem cos there are many passengers in together with you at any one time in the very modern capsule.
This one's different as it's smaller. Not enough you say ? Then wait for the one with the transparent floor and see if you'll need diapers or not. Oh yeah, that's the black nasty one over there .
