Batu Feringghi - Ya Habibi it's Arab season 2014

In Penang, there's durian season and there's Arab season .
Here at Lebanon Restaurant for the umpteenth time,it WAS hard to find a seat. But we did so eventually.
Lebanon is so popular amongst them , that I had to wriggle my way through clouds of fruity shisha, hairy bermuda legs and billowy black head covers with dainty mouthpieces .
Peering out at passerbys, the little beach strip looks more like a village Souq than a Malaysian night market.
Yes, Batu Feringghi has awoken from it's lazy slumber. Everyone stays open for far longer than usual, when the Arabs, Yemenis , Qataris etc etc etc and etcs roll into town.
So why am I showing you kebabs and lamb ? Well look, if they eat behind curtained partitions, would they want to be featured on my blog ? I don't think so.

As per the Family platter which has gone up by RM 20, to RM120 now, and features Lamb Ayash ( mmmmm...nice ! ) as well as the one single item most Arabs must have...french fries,  I also see a difference in the crowd.

Aunties, yes some of the plus plus sized Arab Aunties have now ditched their drab boring black long hijab skirts for colourful patterned stretchable pants. Ooo yea....
Not to say that they've completely ditched their get up altogether, the tops and head cover are still retained, just the bottoms , er, are a bit strange to see for the first time. I'm guessing they feel kind of liberated being able to wear these pants . The way prudish, self conscious Malaysian women do , the first time in a bikini.
Don't believe me ? Well, get your azz down here and see it for yourself yahabibi .
It's Arab season once more
