Was at a photo processing shop when a wall of nostalgic pictures caught my eye.Upon spotting the For Sale sign at the bottom, I asked the guy behind the counter how much it was being sold for.
" RM100 with frame " was his reply.
Fuuuuu....Forget it. No way .
Sensing my displeasure , he then fished out some smaller pics and showed them to me.
" How much are these going for ? "
" RM 10 "
" Ok, gimme one .....by the way, where is this location ? "
My guess was either Jelutong near the wetmarket or somewhere near Komtar. Wrong on both counts.
" Jalan Dato Keramat, the Creative furniture showroom, opposite the police station " said he.
" How come there were double decker buses in the old days but none today ?" Good question .
Informed him that there was even a tram system with the tram tracks buried under the roads fronting Chowrasta market.
" A tram ???!!!?? "
Man...way too many moans for me to handle this Wednesday's child.
Turning to hubs, I told him how impressed I was that people were so well dressed back in the old days.
He chuckled.
" And today, we are so sloppy "
Well....
Photos evoke different responses and touch us all in different ways, old ones especially. No matter, I'm glad I've got one to grace the wall and let it speak a private message to whoever is looking back in time.

A good view of one of George Town’s municipal trolleybuses - this one, fleet number 24, being second hand from London Transport.
Very interesting piece of info there. Wouldn't have known otherwise. Thanks .
