Medina Thai Palace

Got some great recommendations from a local Thai lady who told me to look for Alliance Bank after the Thai temple located near a roundabout. Judging from the number plates parked outside, it must be good.

At first I thought that we had walked into a spa, but no, this is a restaurant all right. Let's go in .

Musical gong sits in one corner. Boy these Thai people are really good at decorating.

Wood carvings adorn most every wall with this being the most intricate and ornate of all.

Medina Thai Palace even has tastefully  furnished private rooms.
Picture of the Thai King at the far end.

Food didn't take long to arrive. Service staff is pretty obliging even when I decided to switch my order .
We had 3 dishes altogether.
First up . Pineapple fried rice.
Excellent. Just what I've been searching for, for so, so long.
The pineapples are not Malaysian but Thai pineapples.
Lots of chopped chicken fillet, not hot, with surprisingly good crackers on the side.
Warning : extremely addictive and mouthwatering

Second dish.
Green curry which looks more yellow than green.
Never mind because it's very syok ! Gets hotter and more "kan cheong" the more you eat it. Chicken meat seems to be neverending. There's crunchy pineapples, bamboo shoot slices also pea sized eggplants .

Last dish.  Seafood Tomyam .
Inside are 3 large prawns, lots of fish meat and squid,  shaved coconut flesh, 2 varieties of mushrooms.
Tangy , creamy plus value for money

As we made our way out, the staff was busy getting ready for a function for 20 pax.
Would I return ? Yes definitely.
Pineapple fried rice and green curry earn the thumbs up from me .

Location : Alor Setar, Kedah
