White Ibis birds have a fine time picking the grounds fronting the Anzac War Memorial monument
The path away from the Reflection Pool, is lined with Hill figs that are surprisingly also known as Malayan Banyan among other names
While this fake obelisk cleverly disguises a sewer vent,
we found it to be a most recognisable landmark which roughly told us where we were once we spotted it
It is Christmas Day after all and most deviated from the pathway just so they could take pics by this baubled tree
This opening is probably the best angle to snap the Sydney Tower
A busy road cuts the park in two.
And while waiting for the lights to turn ,
well , well , I'm surprised to spot this sign
Under this weather condition, this side of the park felt livelier .
St.Mary's Cathedral lay on the right and a few tourists
mingled around the fountain.. .
.. known as the Archibald Fountain.
Veeery gloomy day as you can see.
Queen Victoria statue....
...probably marks the end of Hyde Park.
I say probably because again we ducked towards the office district as the sky by now was threatening to pour
