Why your Tuk Tuk driver might take a longer route

Caught a late night movie at Terminal 21. By the time we came out , it was 1:30 am and this being an area I was unfamiliar with, we tried to hail a cab back.
None available , all full, probably a spillover effect from Nana. Anyway, under the bridge was a lone Tuk Tuk driver.
" 300 baht " . Good gawd, what to do but hop in.
Now take a look at the red dotted line. That was the long and crooked route he took , when all he had to do was follow the BTS line

See, between Asok and On Nut BTS, there were 4 other BTS stations....not as complex nor as far if he'd stuck to this route rather than that detour above right ? Anyway, he took us back to the doorstep and I thanked him with a wai

Still, the incident bothered me, so I started digging online.
Omg, turns out , both On Nut and Ekkamai are associated to some pretty infamous past residents, one an embalmed serial killer, the other , a ghost. So famous, you've probably seen the movie already , yep.
Not going to go into details but rest assured that when your Tuk Tuk driver does what he does, he has a solid reason , as solid as the arsenal of amulets he wears both front and back.
Completely up to you whether to believe or not. I know I do.
