River Room , River View day vs night | Casa Del Rio

You should try to check in on a Friday because that's when Jonker Street , a major tourist magnet, is in full swing . Therefore, there will be lots for you to observe just outside your River Room balcony . However, being a few steps away from the excitement means the hotel will still remain exclusive without being swamped by a sea of humans .
Next morning, if you look carefully, there is a pretty large monitor lizard with a really long tail , taking a leisurely swim directly in front of this window. Bet these tourists in the boat won't know that lol . Anyway, 2 mornings in a row it was there, clearly enjoying itself before the boats whirred by.

At first glance, it looks like any other canal but come Friday omg, the amount of boats that go up and down make it seem like a mini Venice. Initially, we could not locate where the sound of pounding drums and music was coming from, but finally we traced it to the Stadhuys were there are artful dance and drum performances especially on a Friday evening. It will come to a point where the laziest bones ( who ? me ? ) will wanna stroll over to investigate and it's quite worth the effort lemme tell ya.
Busy , vibrant and truly alive, the River Room will let you see and hear, the goings on both day and night. without ever leaving. Unless curiosity gets the better of you as it did me.

There may be many docks along the river , but this one is definitely the busiest as it is accessible from the main road.
Besides, lots of tourists like to take slow walks here and take pictures of the Casa Del Rio

Nightfall.
Pretty lights dot the riverway with boats still piling up and down. The highrise in the background is Hatten Hotel .
Lots of lights there too but I much prefer the atmosphere by the river rather than right smack in town.

Both the Magellan , a replica of the Portuguese galleon and the Taming Sari lookout tower can clearly be seen from this side.

Night view

By day.....

.....and by night.
See the blue lights from the padang and the glowing candle ?
Part of the delightful turn down service where they even light candles for ya.

Me grinning from ear to ear,  coz I'm obviously so happy with what I see as well as the room overall. Again, a big thank you to Dwayne ! Can't thank you enough for your assistance  .

Saving the best picture for last.
There you have it. A panoramic view from the balcony of our River View.
