Dining under the trees out in the open , even under such hazy conditions, is what we Malaysians like best .
Situated in front of an apartment block , this dessert stop attracts hoardes of Uni and college going students because of one main ingredient , Koko Krunch , a type of breakfast cereal .
I don't know any young adult who doesn't like Koko Krunch and although what they sprinkle on top of the cendol is a copycat version ,
hey , nobody seems to mind .
As you can see , the name of the stall is actually Cendol Sempoi but everyone refers to it as Cendol Casa so the name stuck.
Not too sweet , the basic cendol , consists of a goblet of coconut milk ladled onto a scoop of well caramalised gula melaka syrup to bring out the faint fragrance of the green noodles made from a mixture of rice and sago flour . As kids , we used to refer to these as green worms lol but rest assured they are not .
Best in the world !
Order a Cendol Special and you get the fullworks which sort of felt like a full meal .... mini Koko Krunch , red beans , kidney beans , nata de coco , creamed sweetcorn and pulut for the grand sum of RM 3 only.
( Note : Those who like their cendol super cold might find fault with it as it may not be up to your expectations but it was fine by me .)
