I used to have the occasional butterscotch sweets given to me as a treat . But that's beside the point on why I love caramel so much .....there's another reason why I picked this up just now from the supermart .
You see , I hardly ever step into Starbucks because frankly , I think the drinks they make here are way too sweet .
Anyway , when I was in Vegas and stayed at Planet Hollywood , I was forced to go claim anything from Starbucks for breakfast . The limit given to me was around 18 USD . Yeah that's a lot !
So , I settled on a Chorizo bun ( yummmmyyy !!!! ) , one lemon cake ( ugh ! ) and a tall caramel latte ( nice ! )
My indulgence lasted for just 2 days but by then I was hooked .
How come they don't make drinks here , they way they do in the US ? I wondered to myself . Is it the franchisees fault or the baristas fault ?
This by the way is one of the final times I will ever see this favourite luggage bag of mine . I managed to get ANA to replace it with one Japanese brand and then when I came home , I also managed to claim back part of the cost of buying a new bag from my travel insurance . Phew !
Anyway , now that I'm back , I have been regularly popping into Mc Cafe for a fix .
If let's say you want to add more caramel into your drink , they will charge you MYR 1 or 1.50 for that. How Pathetic .
Even though some outlets issue you a stamp ( you get 1 drink free after 3 stamps )
I'm not very happy with what I consider a costlier than it ought to be dependance .
Glad to report that Hershey's does the job as well as a Mc Cafe does , but Caramel latte from the Starbucks on the Casino Floor at Planet Hollywood is still tops .
Use a 3 in 1 , whip the full cream milk and top off with the syrup . Ah ....
