Kim Lian Kee - that Petaling Street Hokkien Mee

Not to be confused with Penang Hokkien Mee, KL Hokkien Mee , is a sinful , quick stewed, charred mass of pure black thick soy sauce, together with squid, pork, prawns, cabbage and lard, cradled in a dry mound of 3 inch long noodles !

Nowadays though , you may be hard pressed to find local diners among the smattering of foreigners ( we even have Afghans now ) . It's definitely easier to spot tourists from China learning how to appreciate this dish .

Anyway , I'm glad they are still holding fort , seriously do not know how much longer they will be around. So long as the cook doesn't whip up a massive amount of noodles in one single wok , this place is what makes Malaysian Chinese hawker food so incredible and just incomparable !

Location : Chinatown , Kuala Lumpur
