Wendy ' s at Sunrise Tower - first visit , 3 trips

" Is there no back up ? "
that was the question going through our minds .

" The system is down "
said the staff .
Nobody was getting any burger . You either wait or you give up and walk out .

I know it is tough to be caught in their shoes , but what made it pretty heartless and annoying was the fact that they made light of the situation by jesting around and smiling a lot .
Highly inappropriate when the mood was deathly and ombre amongst the patient followers .

Me thinks they really ought to thank the heavens these were all young not so vocal customers , some of whom had waited patiently from 11 p.m .

Any person above 50 would have created a ruckus , maybe even banged their fists on the counter , but I'm not 50 yet . On top of that I still have the public temper of an angel at the moment so I did not complain since hey , I was one of the last people to walk in before they decided to prevent new walk ins from entering by barricading the door .

They had to use manual calculators and written chits just to give us our orders so I think that was good of them . That they didn't just shoo us out the door like that , for those of us who refused to budge .

Some gave up . I walked in at a little after midnight and was prepared to wait half an hour so hum....
See these faces below , now these are all  patient and hungry souls so willing to endure the teething hiccups and wait without raising their voices nor complaining . These customers below are real angels I tell you .

Apparently there were 3 power trips ,so I don't know if it is their wiring or the building or what but I consider myself lucky for snaking into first position at the 2nd counter that was opened specially for one about to rage young man ( not in pic ) ( he declined , I think he's probably gonna rage about it online as he had asked for the manager's name )

So okee, here's the deal , I tried 3 items .

Vanilla ice cream .
Reminded me of the custard vanilla milkshake I had outside New York Times Square's Shake Shack . Super icy cold but super melty you have to slurp it up reeeeal quick ! So good ....mmmm...mmmmm ....
Penangites eat ice cream after 11pm at night , so this is nothing unusual . Anyway I picked this cold weather ice cream eating habit after Buenos Aires .

Original fried chicken .
Very surprised to see so much out there .
Finally I get a decent southern style buttermilk fried chicken . Mc D's SUCKS these days but what they serve here at Wendy's is good . Not KFC but still nice !

Beef melt .
On offer at MYR 6.50 . I repeat . This is not the regular price . This is their discounted limited period offer price so please do not show them this post and demand for it years from now .
VERY THIN AND DRIED OUT BEEF PATTY . However the bread and cheese was yummy . Absolutely Hated the mayo like sauce , will probably get them to omit it the next time . Tons of crisp bacon inside . More than worth the price . A bargain at MYR 6.50

Set up .
This is today's American burger place style . Very now . Not 70's , not 90's . Definitely not a diner . Small tight spaces. Emphasises more on standing room .

Overall .
Yeah , you better go eat before someone decides to cut cost and get some ingredients from local suppliers . Currently most items are as authentic .

Hiccups and kinks .
Plenty . As a reminder , please try not to smile when the customers are clearly anxious and suffering .
Also , the girl that served me was quite impatient and rude . Someone else would be less understanding than me and a shouting match would probably erupt then miss .

Opening hours :
8 am to 2 am .
Not 24 hours

Deals :
Check in store . Currently a couple of cheap promos .
One for the opening .
Another is a daily deal and the Christmas deal

What I really want to try next
Their chili . Something I learnt to appreciate while in San Diego
