You know I almost did not believe it when they told us there was yet another dinner included .
But as you can see , I don't have to pinch myself .
Unbelievable .
Amazing .
Wow !
Thing is , we're in the part known as the old East Germany where everything looks a little strange at first .
It's a buffet with separate sections for entrees , the main course and one dessert .
Dessert counter featured a lot of mousses . Unfortunately I was too full to try it out .
Because surprise ! surprise ! although the foods looked so unfamiliar , once I took a bite , it reminded me of home !
Started off with a slice of rolled pork which was pretty close to that canned pork from China , gobbled plenty of cabbages because hubs cooks them almost the same way , the salmon was delicious ....well , well , whaddaya know , I like the East already and am really wondering if they actually have a Malaysian chef in the kitchen .
Entree ? The above WAS the entree .
Now let's do a main .
Almost the same repetition except for the addition of a chunk of chicken , some brussel sprouts and one oily Turkish style vegetable meze dish .
Oh that was so good !
After dinner we decided to take a walk down those impressive stairs ....just for the fun of it .
Only to mingle a bit then head back up to our room for a good hot tub soak in that huge bathtub .
Awoke to a rather misty looking morning .
So empty were the streets outside , you wouldn't have suspected how bustling the inside of the restaurant was .
Since we'd had such a heavy dinner , I tried not to go overboard but failed as you can see .
Bacon , sausages , meatballs , cold salmon , cold herring , honey , some kind of cute vege in oil and a piece of bread pastry .
I never expected the food here to taste like comfort food back home , but it did and for that alone , if you're a homesick Malaysian , who somehow finds yourself in Weimar during winter , do the buffet . It's worth every Euro .
Location : Weimar , Germany
