Some of us have no fighting chance and it is up to us to bring them a little happiness

Caught the Mixed Martial Arts MIMMA event today at Prangin , a complex filled with the most hodge podge collection of mall trawlers from the down and out to those who are definitely not.
And these 2 fighters provided the most excitement of the night , yet the event drew no blood . Why not when there is no raw and burning hunger for fame.

I knew I had to

Was enjoying a late brunch in Raja Uda, when all of a sudden, this young man stepped in with a huge assortment of woven baskets ( there were so many on both sides of his hands ) as well as a large plastic bagful of thai "minyak angin".
Big laundry baskets, medium sized ones that are good for keeping nappies etc,  small picnic baskets , handbags that were smaller even.
The pile he lugged in was something you couldn't ignore since you'll probably be muttering " What in the world ? "the moment you spot him.

Baskets made from coloured packing tape.Very creative. Not to mention hard to weave. Yep, my purchase down there.

Paying it forward at Ikea

All zealots teach us is how to hate one another.
On the other hand when you experience what I did, with a Malay family while standing around like this, waiting for a table in the Ikea restaurant , you will know that there are still some of us, who will never allow hatred to stoke our mind, nor change our respect for one another .

So what happened was this, both husband and wife cleared their table for us after they had finished their meal. I mean, you know, there are workers around, and they could have left it at that. Seriously I think I'd never felt more ashamed of myself, in my life when that happened, as it never crossed my mind that I could do something as nice as that for someone else....a total and complete stranger. Why didn't I ever think of that before ?
So after we relished 2 rounds of coffee, 5 Viking sized chicken wings and a mountain of meatballs with the Swedish flag toothpicked onto the pile, we promptly paid their good deed forward.
