I find myself coming here quite often, for simple yet delicious chu char fare, even though the famous Teik Senn lies just round the corner.
The price difference between the two restaurants,is the deciding factor.

I usually order Emperor steamed eggs (chopped century and salted eggs in chicken eggs),assam heh (assam prawn done typical Penang style) and bayam thn'g (bayam vegetable soup cooked with salted egg, tiny anchovies etc).
But today,I decided to be 'hiau' a bit and try other items on the menu.
First on the hitlist was stewed vege with mushroom.
No doubt, this is delicious, colours are appetising, texture done just nice, with a bit of crunch in it,not 'lembik',not too soft nor limp, with a really yummy tasty sauce.
A must order.
Accompanied by fish with ginger, spring onion and leeks which is not too salty, more on the bland, healthy side.
Followed by a plate of steamed minced pork with salted fish.
The aroma alone was enough to work up the stomach juices, but once it got cold, the taste kinda changed and I found it a difficult finish.
The egg Fu Yong came packed with ingredients like prawns, char siew bits etc.Excellent .
If you're a novice at ordering, this place makes it simple.
You simply look at the pictures lining the wall and point.
Or ask for the English menu.
Order takers here are helpful and very patient with tourists.
