6km for Nameless Nasi Kandar - Chowrasta ( U )

During its heydays,Lebuh Tamil used to resemble a haven for nasi kandar.
Today,one still stands strong here.
With no signboard to refer to,it can be tricky,to locate this nameless shoplot.

This is one of my favourite nice and quiet places, where I get my kandar fix.
The acar is a must have for me,since I do not know of any other kandar outlet that serves this dish.
The other unique items on the menu are a miniature squid curry (the size of  the new 20 sen coins) as well as a coconut sambal, both of which I don't really fancy, but their regulars always request for.

Love the vintage feel of the boxed in dining stations here.

It's so easy to go overboard till you end up with an entire banquet.
Damage from ordering 2 large squids,1 boiled egg,2 portions of acar,1 gulai ayam,1 ayam goreng,1 slice of beef,inclusive of 3 drinks ? $30

The perfect pick me up,on a dank, cold, listless night, real food for the soul.

Location : Lebuh Tamil,Georgetown,Penang
Directions : Look for Mydin(Penang Road) on your right,on the opposite side of Mydin is Chowrasta Market, proceed to the right lane flanking the market, walk inwards along the row of shoplots. You will find the shop somewhere in the middle.
Chow time : evenings till late.
Tips : try to help out the old jaga kereta man with a token sum.He is deaf and mute. When he doesn't have enough drive in customers he will start clearing plates at this nasi kandar in exchange for a hot meal.
