Lim Aik Chew, River Prawn Curry - Nibong Tebal ( PF )

Located in Nibong Tebal,this old cobweb and timbered shop is not that easy to locate on first try especially if you are not familiar with the locale.

But when you finally do,boy is it worth it.

The first thing,you absolutely HAVE to order is the almost emerald sugarcane juice.
The trick is to drink it fast before the ice in your cup waters it down.

So good,I had to have 2 for myself.

Straight down to business,prawn curry.

The flavour is moderately hot by Penang standards,not enough to make us sweat,yet is so addictive and  fragrant,you will definitely put this on your 'gian' list.
Spices are more Indian/Alor Setar chinese curry, than typical Penang ,more powderish than creamy or lemak,with puddles of floating red oil,but nevertheless still packs enough power,enough X factor, to make you want to go overboard,binge and pig out.

More than nice !

Of course,you have to ditch the usual rice and get this to lap up the thick sauce.
Served surprisingly steamed,yet remains non soggy throughout the duration of your meal,this is by far the best ,most fragrant roti benggali I ever had.
It's got a slightly oily texture to the touch,so minute you wouldn't notice.Goes hand in glove with the star attraction.

Total carnage on a plate,with half a prawn left for the road....

After your meal,walk up the bridge to see where your meal was probably fished out from. Be careful to keep to one side and not block passing motorcyclists.

Total damage : Not cheap. $ 54 for prawns,roti,one yaumak lettuce(to balance off the spiciness) and drinks

Directions : turn left at Nibong Tebal toll plaza until you come to a large bridge.Keep leftward,pass 1 traffic light,Petronas should be on your right,pass a second traffic light and lookout for a small yellow signboard that says Sg Acheh on your right.
Turn in,go straight till you come to a T junction,turn right,go straight till you arrive at a bend where Eight One Teleshop is located at the bend,you have to make a u turn back after the bend and park along the road shoulder near the motorbike bridge.
