4 course meal at Song River Cafe - Gurney Drive ( NH )

If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy a fairly cheap chinese dinner in Gurney Drive, this is it.

All of the dishes you see below, from 2 different operators, cost less than $50..drinks,rice and roasted chicken wings included. Extremely filling, I tell you.

Song River Seafood is located at the back, on the right hand side of this bungalow.

Packed with deep fried tofu, thick slices of sea cucumber, the simple creamy stock is garnished with roast pork, leeks, carrots, snowpeas, 2 types of mushrooms and baby corn, that makes this claypot tofu and hoisum dish, real value for money !

Could be one the reasons why Japanese expatriates love dining here on a regular basis.

Whereas the crab omelette and cabbage dish came with an unexpected twist.

Pinkish meat sourced from tiny claws are used instead of the regular whites from the body .

Love their spicy szechuan veg soup so much, I only remembered to take pictures towards the end.

No visit to Song River Cafe is ever complete without a plate of wings ($12 for half a dozen) from the Roast Chicken stall.

The skin is so crispy and recipe so famous even Mat Sallehs know how to come here by themselves and pair it with beer.

Eat it when it's hot otherwise the skin will become too chewy and tough.

Location : Gurney Drive
