Alila, Red Garden Food Paradise ( NH )

When I want cheap, good and authentic Thai food cooked by real Thai people , this is where you will find me.

Walk all the way to the back and look for this counter.

You can refer to the menu on the wall or thumb through a copy placed on the table

Place your order here and let them know where you are seated.

Their Green Chicken curry set costs an unbelievable $5 only.

For $5 ,you get one fried egg,a generous portion of steamed rice, and fragrant green chicken curry cooked with small round, green brinjals, basil leaves and long beans.

Thai fishcakes hot out of the pan.

Available in two sizes. Large or small

Clear Tomyam seafood soup isn't very extravagant but I like the taste of the lengkuas in it.
Comes with a couple of small prawns, small pieces of fish meat, squid rings, halved fishballs and oyster mushrooms.
$12

Their mango rice dessert is the best.

Absolutely mouthwatering.

If you only want to have this at the end of your meal, don't order it first as they will deliver it to you immediately with the rest of your order.

This entire feast cost us $36.70

Really economical not to mention tasty too.

In case you too, wanna give this a try just walk past Cititel hotel, Penang road and look out for a large carpark area.

The food court is inside the carpark area.

Chow time : 7pm to around 11 or 12midnight

Tips : there are lots of foreign tourists because this semi open air food court has been recommended by Lonely Planet.
Also there is a live performance after 9pm or so (dancing on certain days ),where you might be forgiven if you thought you were one minute in Haadyai and the next stuck in an excrutiating cowboy cabaret .
