Oishi Grand Buffet - Siam Paragon

For old times sake , we trooped over to Siam Discovery to pop in for dinner. It was then that we found out that they had relocated to Siam Paragon , just below the cinema floors .

The queue is still there even though the price has jumped up quite a bit . It's been 2 years after all .
You are given 2 hours to eat plus another 30 minutes to get your act together . From then onwards an extra 50 baht will be slapped on , for every 15 minutes you continue to be at your table . Best to refer to the bill they place on your table . The check out time is stated there.

There are 46 people ahead of us . So wait we will .

And boy was it worth it , because we got one of the best seats in the house , just next to the sweeping windows , with a view of the lively city filled with shoppers and commuters .

Sun is going down . So pretty from where I'm seated .

Yep , this is not like the old outlet . It's much more elegant . Even the diners seem to be um controlling themselves unlike the crazy crowd at Paragon last time .

Also , the spread is not as massive too . Below is the sashimi counter . At the grill , they've really slowed down the cooking to the point where it feels intentional .

At first I was quite disappointed that the Haagen Dazs ice cream bin had gone missing . Reluctantly we tried the Oishi ice cream ( so clever at marketing ) and then I had an idea .
We paired the ( this machine you have to try out ) self making pancake machine , where you just press one button and walla ! one pancake comes out at the end.....so Doraemon lol !
Yeah we paired the Oiishi ice cream with the instantly machine made on the spot , pancake .

The cuppa below is where things get real interesting . The guy behind the counter , he's in charge of everything . Don't know how he manages . I know I would throw my arms up , surrender and storm out , but he even had the time and love to do this for me. Lol . Sweet .

Seeing how much tighter the spread is now , here's how some customers maxed the value for the amount  paid.
One lady ate plate after plate ( so many ! ) of a type of spotted sea snail . Another took all the soft shell crab till there was nothing left for others. Geez.
I went for the sashimi as usual .

I suppose if you like buffets , you will always keep this outlet at the back of your head. The temptation is too great even though the spread is not as crazy as before .

Me , I enjoyed the view , the quirky pancake machine , those spotted snails and that rushed cuppa too much , to want to grumble .
