If you were there when the event kicked off , you would have wandered right smack into these cutie pies from the Japanese community living in Malaysia , carrying a mini Mikoshi , a sedan for carrying deities between Shinto shrines .
There was a second Mikoshi hoisted by older local Chinese teenagers . But of course they lost out in the cute department to those kids above .
Soon after both teams made their way past the crowd , came the turn of these Storm Troopers who were so in demand by the selfie loving tourist .
By the way, it was such a hot day I don't know how they coped being encased in such stiffling suits .
As this is the first Yosakoi Parade I'm attending , I was half expecting to see Japanese nationals dancing .
Ah , but it turned out to be an eye opener for me . Local schoolchildren had been trained in the dance well enough , to be invited for demonstrations and parades such as the one held today .
Participants from SM Pokok Sena , showed enough grace ,gesture and form to heighten the gaiety of the occasion . Kudos to their teacher as well as the students .
Though quite shy , the spirited expressions and fluidity of movement were convincing .
Bet you never imagined seeing anything like this eh ?
Then came the cosplayers followed by this troupe from the MPSP making their maiden multicultural dance debut
They injected a multicultural feel to their act .
SMK Kepala Batas sent a really large team
Younger meant they were more agile and willing to give their all.
With more practice , they could one day outshine SM Pokok Sena .
Whatever it is , you have to admit that scene is this is pretty amazing eh ?
Join in next year to see for yourself .
Thankfully , dreadful speeches were kept to a minimum and they even gave pretty paper fans out to spectators .
