It was blazing hot one minute with scattered showers the next but that did not matter as whatever the weather is like outside , this spot provides the perfect refuge for you to leave it all behind .
I'm at CHI , The Spa and I've prebooked a Spa-licious package which I am redeeming today .
When you enter the main lobby of Rasa Sayang hotel , you'll need to take an elevator down one level in order to get to the spa .
Check in is fairly easy , I merely present myself at the reception , fill in some details , after which the friendly spa receptionist handed me this very invigorating drink and requested that I wait for the therapist .
See here , where I'm seated , this is like a doorway into another world . The atmosphere is serene and I'm really comfortable in my own skin no matter how many pounds I may have packed on over the years .
Really looking forward to this .
So many thoughts are going through my head at the moment . Such as , I wonder what the rooms will be like and I hope the therapist has experienced fingers to push all the stress away .
Looking up , I notice this opening on top . Right in the centre of the building , which kind of reminds me of the Pantheon .
I'm early thus my drink reaches this level , with the therapist making 2 rounds in here with a client before she escorts me to a hidden circular courtyard where the massage rooms are located .
Together , we make our way through the perfectly manicured courtyard ....a mixture of the Far East Orient and South East Asia .
Next she opens the door to the Serai mini 2 room pavilion of which I have no pictures taken because I gasped when the door opened .
Which made me forget to take my camera out for the moment until I had changed into my bathrobe and disposable undies ( omg it fits ??? It does !!!!) as instructed .
This here is the beautiful changing room , with separate toilet and shower cubicle as well as 2 mirrors and all grooming items you might need . Did not have much time as my session was for an hour and they had thrown in a free 15 minute aromatherapy bath session .
Once I was done , Tammy , my therapist told me to ring this bell which I did and she appeared like a lady in waiting . Poof !
She led me outside and I gasped again .
You're seeing an empty open air tub but rest assured this was filled with bubbles to the brim and warm to the touch with cool running water from the receptacle that juts out from the wall .
I could have soaked in there forever .
It would be even better if it were filled with tons of rose petals and creamy white milk !
If you're thinking about it too , make sure you sign up ( pay more ! ) for a longer soak because this soak is maaaaaarvellous . The tub is deep enough to sit in , comfortable enough for you to rest your head on but not one of those dangerous kinds where you can easily slip on and maybe drown before the girl finds you .
There will be a rolled up towel beside for you to dry yourself with as well as a cup of chinese tea to sip on .
Yeah , as I was saying earlier and I'd like to repeat it again , this open air soak is nothing short of wonderful .
I wish I could show you what it felt like , I played with the bubbles , allowing the waters to soften my skin and open the pores , as the rain fell from the skies above .....sheer bliss if only for 15 minutes . That's why I'm advising you to take a longer bath session . Even if it is going to be costlier , 15 minutes is not enough let me assure you , so get more You time on this one .
For those who are body conscious and very shy about exposing their bodies to other women , I can assure you that this spa has taken that factor into account . There will not be a time where the therapist will walk in on you stark naked unless you chose to drop the towel unannounced yourself .
She will give you ample warning so you still keep all your secret places secret , so to speak .
Even though I had prebooked my treatment , she still asked me if I had any specific areas to tend to and Tammy not only tailored it accordingly , she also gave me the full head to toe massage which some therapists leave out nowadays . So that was a really good thing...that you are going to get a full massage and not one with something missing just because time is running out .
The therapists do not shortchange you here .
Once finished , she left me to change back before escorting me back to the reception again . Notice that the massage room above and changing room I was in earlier , are on opposite sides of each other with this walkway towards the frontdoor leading to the bathtub in the centre .
You must come and try this at least once !
Thank yous and goodbyes in order , I made my way out with this chit in hand .
Which entitled me to free coffee and cakes at the FIP Lounge at the Garden Wing .
What she kneaded out , I probably stuffed back in especially after wolfing down a quarter of a lemon cheesecake that is not in the picture !
Yes , this is the modest part of that cake and coffee session . More like many cups of COFFEESSSSSSSS and quite a number of CAKESSS .
Cream on the scone alone was such sinful treat . Almost died . Almost .
