Black Friday haul

Got some pretty good buys off the rack from the Black Friday sale today .

GAP's was the best if you ask me , since I was already eyeing some items already . Was kinda expecting this sale , thus I did my legwork days ahead of time , you know , just in case , and I'm so happy that my hunch was right ( that explains my abstinence from writing here heh heh )
In order to get the 50 % discount , one had to comply and purchase 5 items
Discount was storewide so that was pretty awesome , just that you'll need to comply with the 5 item purchase .

There were tons of ladies inside Sephora as they were lopping 20% off everything except for the usual off limit items .

There was a 50% discount at Esprit , Charles&Keith , Aldo ,Topshop and Dorothy Perkins too . But I was pretty turned off by the conditions as well as the very limited merchandise on offer . Worst discount title has to belong to Levi's ( better don't give lah , if you don't mind me saying so ).

Worst service staff awards go to that surly bob haired girl with too much whitening makeup in Mango Queensbay Mall as well as the abang in Timberland Queensbay Mall also . These 2 ate a lot of bittergourd apparently . Sucks to be around these 2 personnel . Smiling is not in their reportoire unlike the super awesome Sam ( the tudung girl ) at Gap QB . I love her . She's such a nice and warm person .
Best sales person ever = Sam .

Wanted to check Dr.Martens and Mark&Spencer but I was totally beat so I don't know if the last 2 retail outlets had any good stuff or not .

One thing you gotta know about me is that I'm not an online shopper. I still love dragging my ass through the shops , scouring through racks , physically rummaging , finding unlikely gems in the least likely places .

So yeah , as you can see from the length of the bill , I bought a lot of stuff from GAP as I am also not a premium outlet shopper ( completely hate it as I have to sift through stained , old , no size , crumpled , sad looking merchandise as well as fake stuff )
Don't get me wrong. Am not a snob , I do buy cheap stuff , very very very extremely cheapo stuff , but I hate seeing people buy and pay for stuff which they think is real when they're actually getting ripped off .

I may be a dying breed . However at the rate our currency is declining , these purchases were smart investments .

This here is the first haul .
Super yummy big shawl from Mango in 1 bag ( there was a 20% storewide discount today and I managed to get them to give me a new product even though this had a red tag on )

Lots of stuff from GAP in 2 bags .
Yays . Very pleased with it .

2nd haul .
Damage at H&M .

Again a storewide 20% . There was amazingly NO SIGN to indicate but if you ask the sales associates , they'd affirm it . 20% does not seem to be much but when you are already eyeing some items , it makes all the difference .
On that note , if you're a super fan of H&M , you might want to consider flying to Manila for the next period as I heard they were giving 70% off !
No idea if it was for selected items only or what . Nevertheless it is still worth a visit .

Well that's it . I don't normally spend so much on togs but since I was already eyeing these foreign labels ( all are foreign labels except for Charles&Keith , they're Sinkies ) , the Black Friday sale was completely to my advantage .

I got what I wanted , not what the retailers did not want anymore .

PLUS I benefitted from the following

1. Homeground advantage .
Shopping here in Malaysia means you are on more familiar ground . Which enables you to move faster when time makes all the difference between you and that final sized piece which someone else wants too  .

2. Time saved less heartache
More online shoppers mean you have less competition to grab that piece you've been wanting so badly .....
as well as a better chance to find something that actually fits after countless rounds in the fitting room .

Hope the retailers here do this more often because ....

# we have some pretty reputable and trustworthy ones here ( I trust anything under Melium and Fj Benjamin group ) .

# when we go overseas , unless your eye is trained like mine , you will not know if you are buying a fake bargain Coach , Michael Kors , Kate Spade or Fossil from a premium outlet in the USA or not . And it's pretty sad just how many end up buying fake Coach bags from the USA ( unexpected huh ? ) and Malaysia ( expected ) without even knowing it . These shoppers think they're getting a good bargain when they don't know they're actually buying fakes on US grounds ( yeah even if the brand is as American as Levi's ) .

Anyway , I'm really beat but absolutely satisfied and delirious over my Black Friday haul !

Bottomline is ...if you don't know how to differentiate fakes from genuine and if you want to purchase with a peace of mind , buy back home , here in Malaysia , not from any Tom , Dick and Harry store or online BUT ONLY from reputable retailers with bosses that actually know their stuff and love these goods , like those 2 companies I mentioned above.
