As mentioned in the post before this , we were on the lookout for Chinese Thai cuisine this time round .
And somehow , we ended up in Rung Rueng aka Rung Ruang , because any Chinese worth their salt will go searching for pork based dishes when they feel a little under the weather , or just on a whim .
Me , I didn't hunt this place down . The tuk tuk which brought us out from Yonomori Onsen so happened to whiz by this rather packed restaurant and of course I would notice a crowd in an alley , thus after he dropped us off at the BTS where EM Quartier is , we just had to retrace his route and turn into the small alley .
You might be confused by which Rung Rueng you should go into as there are 2 shops side by side selling the same item .
The difference is , one is operated by a man ( small shop with more local customers and located at the corner ) and this one which I picked is frequented by a lot of hotties showing a lot of skin ( large clean shop almost entirely run by women )
Can't tell you which one to pick , but they're both apparently one and the same .....so it's entirely your choice on where to dine !
That's the menu above ,
this is the famous noodles .....
aiya , I tell you ah , Malaysia got so many , you don't need to come so far here just to eat this unless you so happen to be craving for Malaysian Chinese noodles , then this would fit your bill .
The soup reminds me of Imbi Road's , while the minced pork , ok ....maybe the quality of Thai pork and our pork , well , there's a slight difference there in the taste of the meat but overall , I won't put this place on my die die must come and eat place unless I am absolutely homesick , you know ?
Next .
We move onto the Tom Yum which many people declare is not Tom Yum .
And they're right !
There is a high probability that this is Tom Khlong which is many times hotter than Tom Yum and with more herbs inside to confuse you even further .
But I won't say it is not nice , it's just that if you're sick of the old Tom Yum and want some excitement , you can do this ! Eh ? eh ?
Further inspection will reveal a variety of offal inside , which is fresh and not bad actually , but only for people who like it hot and spicy .
Not hot enough for you ?
There's some condiments on the table ( dried chilli flakes ! ) for you to up the experience !
Location : Sukhumvit Soi 26 , Bangkok
