Sunshine Bay Seafood Restaurant ( NH ) - New Location

Sunshine Bay Seafood Restaurant, built it's reputation by serving up generous and delicious portions of super fresh seafoods at very reasonable prices.

This is their new location with bigger, better ventilated seating space than when they were operating from Kedai Kopi Sin Eng Huat .

Their signature dish, prawn tomyam is a feast for the eyes .

Served in a real coconut husk bowl,it contains 8 medium sized succulently sweet prawns, cooked in a tangy, fiery thai influenced soup,of lemongrass rolls, topped off with pretty sprigs of mint to complete the picture.

Close up shot of the awesome tomyam prawn.

Done just right, the lightly fragrant Belacan Chicken is an omg mouthwatering crispy on the outside, juicy on inside, heavenly experience.

Do not underestimate the french beans stir fried with choy poh and dried shrimps.

The beans are just cooked to maintain a very crunchy texture, in a very addictive caramel-marmitey sauce that is by far unbeatable.

This refreshing Pandan Coconut water drink, with long handled spoon , makes it extremely easy to relish the white flesh inside.

Great finale to a great meal.

Total damage : $ 50 was enough for all this inclusive of drinks and white rice.

Directions : from Kelawei Road ( the back portion of Gurney Plaza) head towards the Tanjong Bungah post office, it is on a small upward slope on the left just after it, directly opposite Good Hope,a small budget hotel.

Price range : highly affordable

Chowtime : night

Tips : if there is not enough parking space in their compound, turn left towards an empty parking lot. Pay the boys, they will issue you with a numbered slip which you have to present to the restaurant. The amount will be deducted from your bill.
