Penang Kueh at Cecil Street Market ( NH )

There are not many good kueh stalls around nowadays.

Although there are 2 operators in this afternoon market, I prefer to buy from this one.

Despite the massive amount of kueh being sold on a daily basis , this lady is super friendly towards each and everyone of her customers.

Fried selections lie at the far end

Besides walk ins, this lady also caters to small time resellers.

Think they're a wholesaler.

Which means what kueh you have elsewhere could have originated from here



Somehow there's always enough kueh for everyone.

Just make sure you come before 4pm as it's the peak period

and the pace is so frenzied you just have to see these sellers in action.

Location : Lebuh Cecil

Directions : from First Avenue Mall's Starbucks entrance, that is on the same row as Traders Hotel, walk onto the opposite road where there is a small traffic light with oncoming traffic . Continue past 5 streets or so until you see at chinese temple. It is just next to the wetmarket.

Chowtime : 2pm to 5pm
