BB-8 , Stormtrooper and Kylo Ren .

100 Plus Gold can - 2016 Chinese New Year limited edition

Took a few days to hunt this down because apparently , you should be looking at minimarts and petrol station convenience stores for it .
Update : Blog reader Despicable Gru has found them in Tesco . Check the comment section below .

Doraemon jelly mould by Dr.Oetker

Sometimes , when I feel that a product is way overpriced and the main reason why it is moving is because of ...well, in this case , because of this jelly mould , I will wait .

M & M ' s - yet another round tin before the year is out

Following the cookie tin I posted up not long ago on the 25th of November , this has got to be the second release in the run up to Christmas . Not if you take into account the tiny dispenser unit . Didn't feature that because I think it's annoyingly tiny .

Cadbury - purple plastic tote bag

When Atong , the ever smiling Myanmar guy spotted me the other day , he suddenly became extra talkative with his Indian colleague until she asked me straight up
" Do you have a twin sister ? "

Frostop - premium root beer

Don't usually try something like this straight off the shelf . In fact , I walked away but he insisted on buying it for me since he knows just how much I love root beer .

Costs around 12 ringgit or so although it says $1.39 ( USD I presume ) on the top corner of the dark plastic bottle .

M & M ' s cookie tin

Langkawi duty free centres are one of the best places in the country to go hunting for m  &  m' s merchandise and premiums .
Malaysian airports to me , come in second because well , there are just so many other brands to look out for , not just m & m ' s !

However in the FMCG sector , we hardly see the likes of what you can get at those 2 places above .
That's what I like about the festive season . They've just released these 2 designs onto the supermarket shelves .

This is the front view

Turn both tins around and you've got a different picture .

Kit Kat - festive bear in a Kit Kat shirt

Awww shucks .....how can anyone resist this ? Hunt this season giftpack down and even if you don't celebrate Christmas, make sure you wrap it up good with some shiny crinkly paper .

Women and kids will surely be delighted when they tear it open and see 2 beady eyes peeking back at them .

Available in 3 colours , I found the white one the most adorable .
Super cute .

Lotte Koala ' s March - Happy New Year, Happy Moment biscuit tin

Found in a most unexpected place while looking for something else , if you love these chocolate koala shaped pockets , you too would be as excited over this biscuit tin as I was and still am !

Front has a greeting on it which reads "Happy New Year , Happy Moment with Koala's March ".....as well as a Thai inscription on top .

Hotel Translyvania 2 - Dracula head cup with straw

Sure took me a while to decide if I should get the Mr Bleh Bleh Bleh cup or not.
Highly unusual , not to mention quite creepy for the over imaginative scaredy cat like me .

Coca - Cola 100 Years Cold toy truck

The picture on the banners and website looked so attractive . People marked the dates on their calendars in order to not miss out on this.

However there are a lot of flaws on this VERY low quality made toy truck.
First of all the box , the box good gawd , kindly learn from the last main distributor on the business of freebies in Malaysia (which used to be Fraser & Neave ) before this parent company took over.

Mc Donalds - Food Icons x Nanoblock

Here we go again.

The madness has begun once more .

F & N earphones

" Well what do you think ? "
" Should we get some more or what ? "
said muah to the hairy one.
" What for ? "
" You can always get some at Daiso "
the furball retorted
" Yeah , but at this price , I won't walk away with two 500ml fizzy drinks on top of the earphones , right ? "
---- Silence ----

Yeah so that's how we ended up with one only instead of more.

Milo - metallic pencil box

Was at the foodcourt for grilled ikan bakar.
Which a Bangla prepared. New guy had to do everything while the old guy ( another Bangla ) just played with his phone. The whole time. Anyway, these days, the hawkers charge such ridiculous amounts for skatefish, I really don't feel like donating my money to their get rich quick cause anymore.
Because the dish is spicy , we definitely needed drinks.
To stay on the safe side, we ordered Nestle drinks .Milo lah, Nescafe lah .....these are items which only a Myanmar or Thai drink maker can get right but not the Bangla or even some Malaysians for that matter. So in times like this, a manufactured drink is the best bet.

Well, well, whadaya know.
For our foodcourt drink purchase above MYR 10 , we got this. A pencil box. A shiny metal pencil box.
From Milo ? Wow, they've certainly graduated from those plastic freebies nobody wants.
Now we're talking.  This is actually nice ! The cartoon images are actually cute !

Coke Coolly - SF Cinema

I just love snooping around the cinema snack counters . As you can see below, they even boxed nachos in a food warmer.

Coming to premiums, in Thailand however, they simply don't move as fast as the ones sold in Malaysia.
Probably got to do with the mob mentality
and culture. Oh yes, we are so unabashed when it comes to grabbing such stuff. Gosh.
And someone mentioned that we are so prosperous.
Hmmm....
So anyway, you can see what premiums they are offering straightaway in the lightbox above the counter.
An antman drink topper and this huge Coca Cola cooler jug mug thingy.

Sunsilk - Thermocafé flask is back , taller and more vibrant in colour

Sunsilk sales must have shot through the roof when they first partnered with Thermos to give loyal customers like me, the first incredibly useful and high quality thermos flask under the Thermocafé label .

This time round, the flask is not only taller, the paintwork is also much more vibrant in colour with bits of glitter to give it a metallic shine .
While I grabbed the pink one, one burly mechanic got so excited over the blue flask . Yup, this gift is so cool even the men want it !
