Fashion project #3 - Ruyi mystic knot earrings

Wore this to an event yesterday evening and 2 smartly dressed young ladies in lovely modern lace cheongsams , came up to me , with a wide eyed fascinated look in their eyes . Straight out and directly to the point , one of them gushed " Ruyi earrings ! " then proceeded to ask me if I had knotted it myself . I told them with a laugh , " No , I bought them " but of course , you can't really find these earrings in stores because if you've read the post before this , you'll know that ...

Quick lunchtime fashion project - earrings made from lucky charms

The Chinese New Year is a really great time to go searching for shiny new lucky charms .
Found these enamel and gold plated , Malaysian lion dance head charms just now . Took me less than 10 minutes to turn them into dangling earrings .

The Maison Clement

You've probably seen ( and bought ! ) this plasticware from Daiso .
Called the Maison Clement , it's made in Japan . The entire range is not shown below. What's missing is the large tray, pen caddy and round dustbin .

Thing is , when you start with one , you'll need to get another .
Because it's so pretty , plus it has a tendency to attract dust right at the bottom base, I do worry if I'll end up scratching it .

Convert that old crayon case

Nobody seems to want these cases anymore . No matter how hardy and sturdy they are .
I ripped out the inside and put in fabric covered plastic boards cut to size . Added stretch bands and there you have it .

Turning the P & G ONG Zodiac glass bottle topper into a dangling charm

A good majority of us Malaysians love our lucky charms super cute . However the year of the monkey has seen some rather ghastly representations that are not appealing in the least . Cute ? Pulez lah hah . When it comes to what I have seen so far in Penang retail outlets , only Tesco 's cartoon monkey  makes the cut. The rest are meh , one cut out mascot along Kelawei , huh damn ass ugly and so scary to look at .

So , I've been hunting and so far I absolutely don't like what I see . Those decor sourced from China sucks !
Until I had a bright spark moment after well...read on and you'll find out lah .

Recently P  &  G has been giving away zodiac glass bottles and I had to wait like around 3 weeks before I found the Monkey . If last year , the tingkat carrier was unopenable , this year , haiya , as luck would have it , they so phobia already with us achi achor kaupeh kauboo them , until jeng jeng jeng... if you are not careful ah , the lid for the glass bottle will slip right off and piang , there goes your pineapple cookies .

Ya , your kids will grin at you like this. You like meh ?

Not all bottles have this problem. The problem is , we have to take what the customer service gives us . Take back and exchange ? And find out the monkey is no more . Errr..nope . No thanks.
