Cab Western Food, Bagan Jermal ( PF )

Kindly take note that I no longer recommend this place.
However you are most welcome to try it out for yourself and see why I have done an about turn

-----------------

If you've sworn allegiance to James Foo Western and you're only coming in here to give it a try, partially because it resembles their customer clogged outlet in Fettes Park, it's best you turn back.

The food they serve here is to my utter surprise.... hotel standard fare, going back to the good old days when hotel food used to be good ... never lousy.
At half the prices, of course, expect to see customers of this kind sitting with one leg tucked up on the chair

Aroi Thai- a page out of Bangkok ( NH )

Aroi Thai is a quaint little restaurant
that bears a ladies touch in almost every corner.
As long as you keep your eyes off their oh-s0-Thai handsome varieties of manly helpers.

Tribal Bracelet

Mighty pleased with this.
The tiny bells let off a pleasant tinkle that makes my heart so glad and happy . But it was the velvety blood red colour that caught my eye. I had to have it. Blood red !
Picked it up from a trader from China who was eager to sell off his wares.

Peking Duck Skin- Midland Court ( NH )

Take a look at the area surrounding this restaurant and let your imagination run wild. It's located in a shopping complex notorious for er...certain activities... that can get Mazidul Akmal Sidik's panties up in a bunch.
In case you're wondering, no, that's not him.
He's balder.

How Ji Roaster Rice Noodle, Restoran Hup Kee ( NH )

The thought of coming to this coffee shop gives me quite a headache, as it is one of those places that attracts smokers.

Usually nobody dares to light up until the first one does. Then it sparks a chain reaction which makes us non smokers wanna get up and give them a hard swat.

However, the lure of How Ji's roasted duck paired with dry wantan noodles was far too great for me to abstain for too long.
I march in hoping for an invisible screen against the bunch of light upers who don't seem to understand that we DO mind inhaling second hand smoke.

Bee Hooi, supper time

It's 10pm and business is still going full swing

The assam laksa is my favourite.

I think they use a certain amount of sardines here, but I don't mind because they're extremely generous with the vegies such as mint, cucumber, lettuce, bunga kantan and onions.

Yum !

Popiah sold by the same seller has a fantabulously thin membrane for the skin .

Filled to the brim with sweet turnips, chopped omelette, carrots and very tasty filletted small prawns.

Never dunk mine in sauce. The operator obliges.

A bowl of Loh Mee.

Doesn't really need introduction as this stall is already famous.

Hardly draws a huge crowd because the opening hours are reliable, supplies never run out and fans pour in slow and steady from evening till night.

In case you don't fancy such sticky noodles, you can try out the tender Chicken feet that are also sold by the same person.

Something different for a change.
