( U ) Nasi Kandar Jelutong - Penang's No.1 Nasi Kandar
Update 26th May 2013 :
Massive development in Jelutong has swallowed up this place. The entire row of shophouses have been boarded up.
If I ever locate their new premises, I will post it up here

This Nasi Kandar stall is rated by many as the Number One Nasi Kandar in the whole of Penang.

The frenzied pace at the counter, starts as early as 6am here.
Right here is the kandar or carrying case which sellers of old, used to lug around town, hawking their wares, especially around the port area.
When you see this in a nasi kandar shop, it speaks volumes of the long history they have being associated to this dish.

Kang Beef House, Jelutong ( PF )
Although most customers come here to enjoy their beef noodles, their speciality is the very unique beef steamboat set.
It is one out of only 2 operators on Penang Island offering beef steamboat.
What makes Kang stand out , is their flavourful soup stock cooked with juicy tender white radish and salt preserved mustard greens.
Specify how many pax you want your set to be prepared for and whether you want rice or noodles with it.

Soon Lai Seafood - Jelutong ( NH )
Cold nights call for hearty gulais to warm the tummy, and where better to start than at Soon Lai Seafood ?
Usually the place is so packed, the pace so frantic, there's hardly any time to think, when you place your order.
Tonight, was a departure from the norm. The rain had seen to that.
They're reknowned for their crabs and thai pork leg,yet somehow we've never found those dishes to our liking.

This delightful stingray gulai ($13) is the freshest I've ever had.
So smooth and silky, was the fish meat,it practically slid from spoon into my eagerly awaiting lips.
Heavenly....just heavenly.
