Sequinned clothes never die off .

But they've gotten very expensive lately , till I almost had a heart attack when I looked at some pieces of clothing over at Miss Selfridge .

Anyway , the best way to lay your hands on a more reasonably priced range is to identify which store stocks what , then when you feel like it , check the racks and keep your fingers crossed that one fine day , they will miraculously have one piece in your size .
What kind of a strategy is that ? 
One that saves you $$$$$ only if you have patience and are not too bothered about not being the first to wear it .

Sometimes I really wonder how those in charge , plan which outlet is allocated a unique piece of garment you cannot find elsewhere .

That's the case with this SEED dress below by Padini Group .
I've never seen it till now in any of their stores in Penang , neither is it listed or pictured on any online site either , so what on earth ....where did this come from eh ? How'd it suddenly pop onto the racks out of the blue ?

I'm always trawling those Thai fairs for shoes . Up till now , I've not purchased any items of clothing from them before I think , until I saw this flouncy tiered maxi skirt just now .

Sometimes when there's a sale going on , and you find something amazing , such as these 2 identical Bardot dresses from Nichii , you just have to get them in every colour !

Two of each in this case .

Dressing Paula - the sale haul

Dropped into the same Dressing Paula outlet again today . 
Gasp !

There were no more 59 ringgit dresses left . One of the salesgirls told me that when I purchased the first 2 dresses from the first store , that was Day 2 when the sale began , yet I only saw the sign put up today only ....hmmmm

Not to be deterred , I hopped to another outlet ( where I figured there would be less people ) , and yes , there was still a good variety of those 59 ringgit dresses there , of which I managed to get 2 more . Actually 3 , add on 10 ringgit to that 3rd dress .

I love this dress ! It's like a cocktail dress / uniform / pinafore thingy all in one ! Took it 2 sizes down because the squeeze is much more kababoom !

Decent phase

Happy Mother's Day !
Every year before this , I used to place more emphasis on what to eat for Mother's Day. Buffet buffet and maybe another feast .
This year , I'm focusing more on what to wear out because when I end up choosing a nice dress , it can put a spring in my step and smile on my face and that's more than enough to make me glow even without help from the salon .

Thus , in the build up to this special day , I selected 3 dresses which I thought were pretty stand out ,yet decent enough , not too sexy , and makes me look more matured when I go out with the boys .

Was heading towards Nichii when the 59 ringgit sign at Dressing Paula made me stop in my tracks .
( Btw there were sooooo many moms and daughters inside Pandora just now , but I have a more than complete set ,accumulated very fast years ago , thus cheaper than what it would cost today , so that is off my list already )

Anyway , I waltzed into the shop without hesitating , and picked out a few dresses from that irresistibly priced sales rack . 

Well , here's what I found .

This striped dress .

" Are you sure you can walk in that ?

It looks so unstable ! " 

The importance of trying

Found a few jawdropping togs after trying on dresses that even made me go 

" Ugh ! " at first sight .

Yup , maroon / burgundy or red wine coloured threads hardly rank high in my books , still I decided that I would apply the same time tested method and give the dress a go .

So so sooooooooooo ?

When I first tried these pull up pleather pants , I was so disappointed ,

they just could not go past my hips .

With a heavy heart , I told myself to forget it and work on getting myself to a point where one day it will .

Well , today , not only does it finally fit , I've gone 2 sizes down plus there was a huge markdown as well !

Vincci - May 2018 sale

Back in Penang , I went straight on the attack mode in the store to "balas dendam" on not having known about there being a Vincci shoe sale earlier .

There's one thing you should know about the May sale . It's close to Raya thus you'll see a lot of sandals in designs which mostly Malay ladies  prefer .

Plus , compared to the time I went mad over the shoes at the last sale , this time round , shoes are priced higher ( most times , costing 10 ringgit more ) , with most popular sizes almost non existant .

Meaning , they seem to be trying to push off the less popular sizes first .

Also , I personally feel that the range is less exciting than the last crazy sale . Still after 2 hours of mingling , putting on , placing back , mirror hogging , I walked out with 4 of these below .

Mayday sales haul

Was in another town today ( not  Penang ) when I stumbled upon a swarm of tudung ladies going all crazy over at the local Vincci shoe counter .

Apparently , the sale began yesterday , and it's going to continue up till the 1st of May . 

Oversized

Yet another apparel which I found in Aeon under the Scarlet label .

This time it's an oversized baseball shirt which can be very sexy and naughty if you know how best to wear it in a manner that suits you .

2 shapeless shifts for the weekend

Picked up my second dress from Aeon under their in house Scarlet label today . 

It's a long sleeved , calf level sports dress with a sexy side split ( the split can be zipped up or down ) , something I never expected to stumble upon in this store .

While there's plenty of sports dresses especially over at Adidas , the price tag over at their stores , stretch between MYR 160 to 300 per piece .

Sooooo not worth it , especially when I saw a clutch of fakes being sold in Bangkok the other day ( Zara also included gosh , these are very good copies mind you , so do know your stuff before you part with your $$$ ) .

As a result , I'm so not paying top dollar for a sports dress or jacket mind you .

When it comes to tights and sports bras , that's a different ball game altogether . 

3 years late

Two posts before this , I was talking about how lace dresses seem to be so darned attractive to the aunty lurking inside of us .

Progression into auntyhood

I don't think any young Malaysian lady would be caught dead in this dress below . These types of shift dresses with see through lace is favoured by the Malaysian Chinese aunty type , which is obviously the direction in which I am headed currently .
In fact , if a " young " looking lady does end up wearing something similar to this , it shows you just how old she is actually , or how much help she's had from surgeons (  look at the lines on her hands , those never lie ) or not ! Chances are , she's probably in her late 30s to 40s by the time she decides to walk outdoors sheathed in a laser cut example .

On the other hand ,while my Cotton On pieces are magnets that get me wolf whistled at , I feel the need to escape from that and take a break from younger fashion , well , sometimes , not always you know . 

Aunty fashion to me , is a lot of fun actually . I'm mystified at how it manages to embolden young lone Middle Eastern men into approaching me especially when I am dressed in tiger or cheetah animal prints paired with my denim shorts like what happened today . The guy was quite blatantly insistent in engaging me , despite me pointing out my 2 male escorts to let him know that I was not alone , yet , he still gazed at my face like he was about to graze on sweet grass gosh....I've never felt so flattered lol .

Anyway , this aunty fashion phase  seems to be a natural progression , as if we are wired to appreciate such pieces of clothing once we attain a certain age . Those patterns seem to trigger an emotion locked away for a good part of our youth , and that's why most times , you'll see it on a shapeless ah sum on a dinner date with her gang. Or......that sexy voluptously hot 42 year old ah sum whom people think is 25 !

Shuffling tankini

Right now , I'm learning how to do the shuffle . Not by choice though , this is on the instructor's insistence .
In order to not forget the steps , " how to shuffle " vids are the order of the day . One thing led to another and before long , I was watching music festival dance vids , where the choice of dancewear is um ,well, pretty liberating .


As a consequence , I'm looking at skimpy tops which totally do not suit me at all , yet I still took them into the changing room for a try . 
And that's pretty much how I ended up with this lacey tankini .

And yet somehow , the word

DEALS 

placed on the glass window of the store lured me in .

Now , if you've been following my blog , you'll know that I haven't really purchased many clothes from H & M.

By now , whenever I pass by this particular Pakistani trader's stall , I always make it a point to go check out the harem pants corner.
New arrival this . Somewhat similar to the muddy teh tarik coloured carp design I purchased from him earlier  .

From experience , this material does not require much care nor ironing like a madwoman ...

Girlfriend Jacket - Perks of being a Cotton On member !

Been seeing these feminine designs all over the place , from Guess right down to those Thai street fairs .

 At Guess , you might have to cough up MYR 400 and above for it , while those street fairs ....just MYR 29 or so .

But I've been hesitant until today when I decided to utilise the shopping voucher . Anyone who signs up for their brand new membership card , on top of collecting points , is guaranteed to receive a voucher in your email you see . The catch is , you'll need to purchase above MYR 80 to redeem the MYR 30 ( just show the cashier the barcode sent to your email and that's it ) . I have absolutely no problem spending MYR 80 here ,as I have a long list of items I love from this store .

Some daring choices

Met a lady at class today who was wondering why she wasn't loosing any weight . She sort of gave up on that part ever happening , said that she's been in it for yearssss already , but she still joined in so that she could sweat it out , have a little fun and feel happy at the end of her stressful day .

I could not offer her any advice because I didn't dare to , but as for me , now that my efforts have shown fruit , it is time to get more daring with my fashion choices .
