Was in another town today ( not  Penang ) when I stumbled upon a swarm of tudung ladies going all crazy over at the local Vincci shoe counter .

Apparently , the sale began yesterday , and it's going to continue up till the 1st of May .

Well , I scored an invite to this event earlier today and saw so many beautiful people all at once , together in a straight line , my eyes almost couldn't handle it .

Midnight horror story

We have a secret hideout which we go to for Hainanese style western food at night . 

Right after that , we walked back to the car and I so happened to crack a joke as I looked up into the trees

" what if you saw something up there in the trees. What would you do ? " I teased kiddo .

Boy was he annoyed 

" simply say things ! "

Chuckling to myself , I prepared to get round to my side of the vehicle .

2 shapeless shifts for the weekend

Picked up my second dress from Aeon under their in house Scarlet label today . 

It's a long sleeved , calf level sports dress with a sexy side split ( the split can be zipped up or down ) , something I never expected to stumble upon in this store .

While there's plenty of sports dresses especially over at Adidas , the price tag over at their stores , stretch between MYR 160 to 300 per piece .

Sooooo not worth it , especially when I saw a clutch of fakes being sold in Bangkok the other day ( Zara also included gosh , these are very good copies mind you , so do know your stuff before you part with your $$$ ) .

As a result , I'm so not paying top dollar for a sports dress or jacket mind you .

When it comes to tights and sports bras , that's a different ball game altogether .

Been consuming Samyang Noodle's Seafood Party for a good number of years . The problem is , because it's so addictive , it's ALWAYS sold out ! Situation's been like that for two years already .

 Those desperate for their fix will have to buy them in single packs which makes it more expensive compared to the multipack .

To earmark the Zaihani Zain furore

In all honesty , I started out hunting for a bright yellow earring elsewhere other than at Lovisa because I felt that , that , particular colour tone , was way overpriced in their stores . Then somehow I ended up with 2 pieces which I think Zaihani Mohd Zain would probably wear you know , thanks to a few days of the furore setting fire to my facebook feed .
In one post , netizens " bantai-ed " her round the clock for 3 days straight . Wowzers !

Changed priorities

One of the first few fitness places I went to had an instructor who was kinda well , how do I say .....pretty cruel .

She used to take guerilla candid shots of all the attendees in her class , at their worst in the world angles , showing the whole world their most horrifying assets which should not even see the daylight , 

like the widest buttocks and the largest stomach , the most cringeworthy downright embarassing bra shot , might I add , most time s without permission , while she on the other hand , took lovely , sweet smiling selfies of herself in Beauty Shot or soft tone .

Very daring , half of my 2 girls will be exposed to fresh air , sunshine and lots of eyeballs the day I decide to step out in this .

3 years late

Two posts before this , I was talking about how lace dresses seem to be so darned attractive to the aunty lurking inside of us .

Just boil the okra

Quick boiled till just cooked and still green  this is how most Chinese and Thais living in the northern states of Malaysia like their okra . The act of not slicing it open during the process of cooking , not only keeps the slime in , the instant you bite in , your tastebuds will experience both the natural water soaked sweetness from the outer pod to a slight dry rubbery bitterness where the seeds lay .

An acquired taste , once you get the hang of it , you will definitely be hooked with no turning back !

Most folks will add a portion of fiery spicy sambal on the side which of course takes it from bland to kaboom . 

Now , when the sambal makes its appearance side by side with the boiled okra , it attains a status that makes it esteemed enough to be placed on top of offering tables during the annual Hungry Ghost Festival , and a delicious enough treat for a guardian spirit housed in outdoor floor level shrines called the Datuk .

Progression into auntyhood

I don't think any young Malaysian lady would be caught dead in this dress below . These types of shift dresses with see through lace is favoured by the Malaysian Chinese aunty type , which is obviously the direction in which I am headed currently .
In fact , if a " young " looking lady does end up wearing something similar to this , it shows you just how old she is actually , or how much help she's had from surgeons (  look at the lines on her hands , those never lie ) or not ! Chances are , she's probably in her late 30s to 40s by the time she decides to walk outdoors sheathed in a laser cut example .

On the other hand ,while my Cotton On pieces are magnets that get me wolf whistled at , I feel the need to escape from that and take a break from younger fashion , well , sometimes , not always you know . 

Aunty fashion to me , is a lot of fun actually . I'm mystified at how it manages to embolden young lone Middle Eastern men into approaching me especially when I am dressed in tiger or cheetah animal prints paired with my denim shorts like what happened today . The guy was quite blatantly insistent in engaging me , despite me pointing out my 2 male escorts to let him know that I was not alone , yet , he still gazed at my face like he was about to graze on sweet grass gosh....I've never felt so flattered lol .

Anyway , this aunty fashion phase  seems to be a natural progression , as if we are wired to appreciate such pieces of clothing once we attain a certain age . Those patterns seem to trigger an emotion locked away for a good part of our youth , and that's why most times , you'll see it on a shapeless ah sum on a dinner date with her gang. Or......that sexy voluptously hot 42 year old ah sum whom people think is 25 !

Must not step into Lovisa , must not ..... must ...

Shuffling tankini

Right now , I'm learning how to do the shuffle . Not by choice though , this is on the instructor's insistence .
In order to not forget the steps , " how to shuffle " vids are the order of the day . One thing led to another and before long , I was watching music festival dance vids , where the choice of dancewear is um ,well, pretty liberating .


As a consequence , I'm looking at skimpy tops which totally do not suit me at all , yet I still took them into the changing room for a try . 
And that's pretty much how I ended up with this lacey tankini .

My goodness .

It is now 3.15 pm and there is already a hoard of people waiting to buy Nyonya kuih .

Doesn't matter if they were hobbling along on a walking stick earlier , doesn't matter if the standard has dropped ( sad truth ) , some of these customers were already waiting for the stall to open from 2.30 pm already .

Teochew salted pork - indulgence for an improved metabollism

As it is , my weight has reduced by yet another 2 and a half kilos over a period of time . And it has stabilised at that for now . I'm not stepping on the scales as often because I know that whatever I am doing now is setting me on the right path towards being more svelte .

Both my metabollism and appetite has improved at the same time . I can now polish off a whole heap of rice and not worry about how much carbs are gonna sit in and destroy all that I've worked for .

I still try to keep off supper but I do let myself indulge every now and then although I do admit to worrying if  the scales will go back to square one after that . 

So far so good , so here we go .

Let's have some good old salted Teochew style roasted pork tripe tonight for supper .
